Paul Reed’s Thoughts About Pony Play
When I was at the tender age of nine or ten I wanted a pony, like most children of that age. My older sister and brother both had ponies when they were growing up and I thought I should have one also. I grew up on a farm in southwest Iowa and my parents had plenty of pasture for a pony. Unfortunately, my request for a pony was turned down on numerous occasions and I never did receive a pony of my own.
Shortly after my futile attempts to secure a pony, I was looking at a feature magazine that came with the Sunday Des Moines Register newspaper and noticed a woman was dressed as a horse. The article was about the Jean Genet play "The Balcony" that was playing at an off Broadway Theater in New York City. This play was later made into a movie starring Peter Falk, Shelly Winters, and Leonard Nimoy.
The woman was dressed in a black corset, dark stockings, and high heels. What really made an impression on me was that she had a beautiful black horse tail that arched away from her lower back. Something about this image turned on a light bulb in my mind and I liked what I saw. From that day forward I wanted to possess my own human pony girl.
Finally when I was 18 years old, I talked my first serious girlfriend into letting me ride her when she was on her hands and knees. When I first sat on her back an intense feeling of pleasure filled my body. I happily rode her around a room for awhile and I knew I was on to something. During the next few years I talked several of my girlfriends into being pony girls by riding them on their hands and knees for as long as safely possible.
During this time I felt I was the only person in the world that liked to ride women as pony girls. I eventually found publications that had articles about human ponies and pony play and I slowly realized that other people also had this desire to use people as a human ponies or horses. I also noticed that pony play was fairly common around the world, with many people devoted to this eroticism.
After searching for many years for more information about pony girls and human horses, I was becoming increasingly frustrated that there was not a publication about this very erotic activity. I decided that the only way there was going to be a publication about this eroticism was if I started it myself. Thus Equus Erotucus Magazine was born in 1997.
Being the Publisher of Equus Eroticus Magazine was one of the most rewarding and exciting times of my life. I met and was able to become friends with many wonderful people who shared my love of human ponies. I will not name all the wonderful people for fear of leaving someone out, but they will always have a special place in my heart. During this time I was able to ride and train the most dedicated and wonderful pony girls in the world.
The magazine was also responsible for introducing me to my wonderful wife, Emily Reed. She sent me an e-mail inquiring about being trained as a pony girl and one thing led to another. In addition to becoming my wife, she was also the editor of Equus Eroticus Magazine.
Although I will miss being the publisher of the magazine, I am excited that Rebecca Wilcox has agreed to be the new owner and publisher. She has many exciting ideas on what direction the magazine should travel in and I am extremely pleased that she has agreed to take over the reins. I wish her the best of luck and I know she will be very successful in her endeavors.
Pony play is a children's game for adults.
