Southern California Spring Fox Hunt

The Los Angeles ponies and critters group are hosting the Sounthern California Spring Fox Hunt on April 24th.

This will be our second fox hunt, the first was a tremendous sucess with a good turn out. A really fun day for everyone with ponies and critters alike joining in with the event.

The fox hunt is held in the Los Angeles national forest at a campsite (details of location provided to those interested in attending). Many members of the group will camp from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th, others travel up for the day (things start at 11am so arrival should be timed for 10:30 am at the latest in order to get changed etc)

There will be a toast to the hunt before proceedings, the hunt itself, a pot-luck lunch and pony dressage in the afternoon (other practise sessions for puppies/kitties etc can be arranged, we are flexible). We are also welcoming and looking for volunteers and people outside of the group to partake as hunt followers!

Event details can be found in our fetlife group or at our website L.A. Ponies and Critters

If anyone is interested in attending please get in touch.

Schedule for For the Fox Hunt Day Event:

Saturday morning

11 am - Stirrup Cup - traditional toast to begin the festivities

Organize the hunters and release the Fox. We have ONE fox confirmed. More FOXES are welcome. A guide will go with each fox to mark trail. We are in a National Forest and do not wish to loose people.

Note:The Fox must consent wear a fox tail butt plug and consent to have the plug pulled out when caught. If the fox is wanting to be tormented by the Mistress or Master of the team that catches the fox, all limits must be written before hand, thoroughly understood by all participants and agreed to.

11:30 am - The Hunt begins

The dogs/critters are released next to find the fox.

The ponies and "riders" follow the dogs.

The idea is that the dogs/critters encircle the fox after the dog/critter that finds the fox tags him/her, and they all bark to bring the ponies and "riders" to the scene. The fox is de-tailed.

Being a social event, the hunt is followed by a pot luck dinner together.

We will set up an arena for free-style dressage routines to be performed in after potluck. yere will be a sign up sheet for the order of performance.

Story-telling Time and a Good-bye Toast. Award/Prize for the Hunt awarded and best original story as voted by majority of group.

this event is held in a National Forest about 90 miles north of Los Angeles. Please contact submissann for more information.
