Editorial Guidelines

Content qualifications

To be qualified, your submission:

  • MUST BE AN ORIGINAL ARTICLE THAT YOU WROTE or otherwise created. If you work for an author as an employee or contractor and are submitting the article, please submit the article as if it was from the original author, including his or her email address and name.
  • MUST NOT BE AN ARTICLE YOU RIPPED-OFF FROM THE PUBLIC DOMAIN OR BOUGHT (PLR). If you did hire a ghost writer to write your articles, you MUST have an EXCLUSIVE LICENSE that allows *only* your name to be associated with the articles produced for you.
  • MUST BE informative and share your unique expertise or personal experience. Include tips, strategies, techniques, personal stories, analysis, opinions and commentary in your articles.
  • MUST NOT be an advertisement, sales letter, promotional copy, or blatant and excessive self-promotion or hype.
  • MUST HAVE proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure. While we know there is a variation in what is considered proper grammar, we ask that you at least be consistent within your article. Your article must also be proofread and double checked for accuracy. If English is your second language, we strongly suggest that you have your article proofread by a native English speaker before submitting it to us.
  • MUST NOT contain sexually explicit material; hate- or violence-oriented themes; racial intolerance or suggestions of racial intolerance; statements against any individual or group; an insulting, obscene, or degrading tone; or profanity if intended for use on the Equus Eroticus website. Any such materials will be considered for off-site use.
  • MUST NOT contain any content that is in violation of any law, may be considered defamatory or libelous, or infringes on the legal rights of others.
  • MUST NOT be a previously submitted article or be restricted for use in any way.
  • MUST NOT include a reply to a personal email, letter, or other correspondence.

Format

All submissions must be clean and easy to read. Equus Eroticus reserves the right to edit all submissions. Requests to be exempted from this right must be approved in advance of submission of the article. Most submissions do not require a full name. However, there may be exceptions. If you wish to receive credit for your work, please include all pertinent information in the initial submission email.

Texts are to be submitted in either Word format (.doc file) or a plain text file. All texts will be formatted by an Equus Eroticus editor prior to publication.

Articles

  • Every article must have a two to five sentence summary and not exceed 200 words.
  • Must be a minimum of 250 words and no more than 5,000 words. For us, an ideal article size is 400 to 750 words.
  • If you sell hard in the ARTICLE BODY by including your URL or product pitch or blatant self-promotion, we retain the right to toss your article without notice. You may include a brief information or tag line at the end, where you may pitch yourself or your website address.
  • Your article body MUST deliver on what is promised in the title. We do not accept teaser links or phrases that require a reader to click away from the article or reference another source in order to receive the full benefit of what has been promised.
  • EMAIL 'MAILTO:' LINKS: We highly recommend including a link to your website but do not advocate including mailto: or email link to your personal or work email account as it may likely be used by spammers. A link to your useraccount on Equus Eroticus will be available with the article and you can be contacted from there.

Images

We highly encourage submissions of images, photos, drawings, graphics, and other visual depictions. However, for us to be able to publish them, they need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • MUST BE owned by the person submitting the images. By submitting the image you state that you have the right to publish the image through a third party for professional purposes and that you maintain all the releases of rights to the image for all purposes for the models, photographers, producers and artists.
  • MUST BE of the minimum size of 640 X 640 pixels.
  • MUST BE of a minimum quality to be accepted for use. The quality parameters differ for various uses on the site.

Submitted photos may go either in separate galleries, in galleries together with other submissions, or into articles. Some pictures may not be published at all. Equus Eroticus reserves the right to decide which pictures to publish and how. Equus Eroticus reserves the right to refuse photos for any reason.
