About pony play

Pony play involves the representation of a bio-equine which often includes interactions with others also operating within that context.

Pony play lives within our creativity in defining and expressing it in action. It knows no limits or boundaries of expression other than within clear negotiation of agreement between players. There are at least five types of pony play: fetish, role-play, sex, BDSM, and equine identified, sometimes known as furries. Each play envisions a personal fantasy expression, the truest of desires. Many players choose to develop roles devised from bio-equine experiences while others live out extrordinary individual fantasies. Ponies and their counter-parts use an infinite array of roles that play out a dynamic power exchange of trainer/handler/groom/vet/e.g. and pony. A player can be one or any combination of all the types. Another type to consider is virtual ponies on-line.

Fetish - Generally regarded as the voyeur/exhibitionist type, it involves a deep respect, objectification, and often erotic response. The fetish pony player, participant or admirer enjoys the sensations provided by the viewing and/or participating in pony play or its production.

Role-play - Real life and fantasy roles such as show, cart, dressage, reining, work, circus, and unicorns. It often includes an identification with a particular breed of pony. Role-play enacts the fantasy constructs and/or social interactions within the community of pony players.

Sex - Pony play that involves sexual acts, relations, or intercourse.

BDSM - When bondage, discipline, Dominance and submission, and sadomasochism provide the context for the pony play, this is a BDSM or SM pony.

Equine Identified - The equine identified or "furry" pony base their pony representation on an inward belief in their equine inner nature, which may be spiritual, representative, symbolic or energetic.
